How do I sell produce to Pierre?

Either do it through his shop screen (activate him from the counter) or just place the items in your shipping crate.

Yes, there's no difference except that goods you sell to npc won't count to collections.

The other difference (such as it is) is in getting the money right away vs at the end of the day, for the times when that matters (i.e. you want to buy something right now but are cash poor).

Selling to Pierre (or Clint or any other other shops) is done thru the same interface you buy from them through. Just click on the items in your backpack (lower display) that are not greyed out to sell them.

Make sure you talk to him across the counter, not standing next to him.

you right click on the counter when standing in front of it. Pierre will buy farm produce but wont buy fish (sell to Willy), wont buy ores (sell to Clint), wont buy wood , stone or clay, (sell to Robin).
When your inventory open, click on the items you want to sell.
