Where is the save file location?
I plan to make backup because I want to switch to Beta for testing, v1.04 has some annoying gamepad cursor bugs which messes up your gameplay (interactions, planting stuff etc.), has some audio issues as well (like when you change location, the music from previous location still play etc.) and I'm getting the feeling the more I am into the game the more bugged it becomes (yesterday I hit year 2, 1st day of spring and I had difficulties running around my farm, doing stuff etc.) Because after a daily updates, v1.04 is for too long with those annoying bugs I want to see if Beta build is a bit better to play than this, but I would first had to backup my save fale in case that I would have to rewert back to 1.04 I would restore my save file from backup.

EDIT: It's worth mentioning that 1.03 and before did not have any of those issues although the most issue free I remember being 1.02

The save is in your %appdata%/stardewvalley/saves folder.

Ok thanks :3 btw. I'm also curious, is it possible to go back to previous version with your save file or something will break? (let's say I get the previous version from different source than steam)

That would depend how many changes happend.
If the game can't parse the savefile you would most likely get a crash.
I can only say you have to try it for yourself.

previous version? Like roll back a day? I dont think its possible. The game overwrites automatically whenever you got to bed so I dont think its possible.

But if you cracked the game and bought the game later on, your save will still be there. Though chances of crashing when things are interacted, but probably the updated items or so, might get you.

I recommend you just start a new in the original game and stop cracking games.

ugh... I don't even... >.> I'm playing steam version from day 1 release @ 26th Feb. What I was refering to "previous version" is a previous version of the game (like 1.03 or 1.02) downloaded from internet and use that to play until stable 1.05 comes out here on steam. I would recommend re reading what I have typed above. OTL

Like I said. Just try it.
New versions are often able to use older save files.
And unless you've modded some crazy stuff in the parser should take it.

I'm agree with this. Making a save from, say the beta version 1.05d work on version 1.04 (if I understood correctly that this is more or less your objective) might be hard.

Latest version also has a backup save now which is quite useful incase you crash or something.

I would asume disable steam cloud, replace save, open game, close, re enable steam cloud, shouldn't give a fug about old save file.

Thanks to this thread, I now know exactly what are the items missing for the crafting achievement. I need the crystalarium and the rain totem.

I thought I did craft the crystalarium, I have 2 of them running full-time. But I have the resources, so that's fine. I now have to re-acquire pigs to get truffle transformed into truffle oil to get the rain totem. I used to have pigs to get the community center missing items, if only I knew about the rain totem before selling all my truffles.
