Question about legendary fish location

Year 2, Spring 3.

It's raining. I'm fishing at the lake, just outside the mine entrance. On the little outcrop just below the bridge over the stream where the shiny boulder is.

Something bites my hook... OH SHI- it's a legendary!

Unexpected, I'm not using tackle and I'm not using food boost, so of course I don't catch it.

What I'm wondering: which legendary would this be?

I've only caught Glacierfish and Mutant Carp. I mean, I'm assuming this was Legend, but I thought I needed to have caught the others before he would bite?

I also wasn't fishing on the island and casting towards the log, so this seems strange...

Is it possible that you can catch Legend anywhere in the lake, and that you don't need the other legendaries before he bites?

Indeed the legend, most probably.

While the book said you needed to catch all of them, it's not currently true (bug or not, I don't know)

When I caught mine (4 times in a day =$ ) , I wasn't on the island either, and I had caught 3 of the 4 other legendary fishes
