Question about bees & flowers
If I don't harvest my flowers near the bees once they've fully grown, will they wither & die, or is this a good way to get the fancy honey?

The only purpose of these flowers will be for the bees, so I'd rather not have to replant them if I don't have to.

Thanks.

You don't have to plant flowers for bees like in harvest moon. The bee hives will work regardless. I've got 10 hives and never plant flowers.

They will only die at the end of the season

It works without flowers, but you get better honey[stardewvalleywiki.com] if there are flowers nearby.

Yeah but the flowers near the bees will make different/better kinds of honey than the wild honey the bees make without flowers.

I have planted flowers near the hives at the beginning of the season and they don't wither away and stay there until they are harvested. They probably will wither if you don't harvest them by next season though. So yes, its a good idea to plant them on day one of the season and keep them there to get the fancy honey. (:

If there are flowers nearby you get flavored honey worth substantially more.

To the OP: good question. I was wondering whether I would need to harvest the flowers or just leave there there the whole season. I think I'm going to expand my bee boxes and plant flowers around them come spring.

That's great news, since flowers take a while to grow.

Sounds like we're safe just leaving them there.

Just don't forget sprinklers. ;)

Once the flowers are full grown leave them there they do not need watered once there full grown.I do not think you even can water then individually without accidentally picking them. I actually have about 5 bee hives going next to a line of flowers past few season. Poppy honey sells for alot in the summer

The beta patch notes mentioned something about "dead flowers will not flavor honey" or something. I wonder if that means we'll have to water them, or if it means actual dead flowers, like wilted ones from a previous season.

Oh, that's also good to know, thanks.

I assumed that meant wilted ones from previous seasons, but that's a good question.

Squatta's already said in a post above that he just leaves his flowers there and doesn't harvest them, though, so I can't think of what else "dead flowers" might mean other than dying from a season change.

Fairy Rose honey sells for even more during Fall.

Does multiple flowers make a difference at all in the price? (Not different types, just more than one or two flowers)

Nope

Can you have multiple hives and only 1 flower, and get better quality honey that way? Or is one single flower enough for all hives?

Haven't played this in ages, so perhaps I'm mis-remembering, or things have changed... but I think one flower is enough, and each flower has a radius within which it affects hives?
