Are wifes able to move things around?

I have a quick question here, been playing the game for a bit and finally got married to the NPC Penny. But when I put certain things down she gets mad XD. Is there a way were she can put stuff down? Or a list on what items she likes? Running out of gifts to get her lol.

Unfortunately, the wife/husband is kinda edgy. The npc won't do a single thing to help really...

The person you marry might water your crops, feed the animals, repair fences or makes you food.

They're SUPPOSED to help out.... but I dont think their AI is working all that well... I married Abby, and the only thing she occasionally does for me is cook. I havent seen her outside (fixing fences, or whatever) since the day we got married.

And she's constantly complaining about the house being a mess and that she cant get to where she wants to go... even when i have NO items placed down... XD

She's only stuck if she wan't to go to town.

You won't actually see them doing it, but one day in the morning they will be standing outside, and upon interaction will say that "they woke up earlier and fixed some fences" or "watered plants and filled the dog's bowl."

I mean multiple times she did house chores for me ^^' but since its still and early acces hopefully its worked out. Thank you all for the help.
