No walleye
Been fishing every single night of winter from 5pm until 1am in the lake near the mine (which is where the wiki says it is) and still no walleye... wtf?

From the Wiki: River/Lake/Forest Pond, 12:00 PM - 2:00 AM, Fall, Rain. Note the season.

Go to the pond in the secret forest - especially when it's raining/snowing - and take a large basket with you for all the walleyes you're catching.

I'll try secret forest pond in the snow, thanks

Wahhhh!
No - I'm sorry - I was absolutely mistaken - was thinking of another fish. ^^
But Nighttime & raining should work on all rivers in fall/winter.

Multiple sources lie. I have not seen or heard any confirmed instance of a walleye being caught in the winter.

And I have done the same as you, fishing nonstop in the appropriate time-and-weather conditions in winter, and have turned up zero walleye. Because, same as you, I was deceived.

(I'll believe that Walleye can be caught in the winter when I see a screenshot of the catch itself.)

I can absolutely confirm Walleye cannot be caught in winter. I am level 10 fisher with Irridium Rod and lures, what have you, and I spent an entire winter trying to catch one without success. Just missed the fall deadline for the community center bundle, because according to wiki it was possible to get it in winter as well, so I didn't rush. Sucks to have to wait until Fall for that reason xD

the fish isnt obtainable in winter, I fished for over 2 hours of gameplay in an entire winter season, it's a myth. I fished for like 2 minutes in fall and got 3 perfect ones.

Thanks for the replies... was about to go insane

The game ITSELF says that you can catch walleye in the winter. The farming tv channel literally says one day "walleye can be found in AUTUMN and WINTER on rainy nights in any freshwater location." This has to be some kind of bug, because I have been fishing my ass off and unable to find a walleye in winter.

i got it nearly instantly on a rainy day at fall standing on the south bridge in town (near ocean map)

The only source you need is http://stardewvalleywiki.com/

I found one in the pond left Marnies Ranch. Down from the Gipsys Car.

the problem lies in the fact that it must be raining. It can't rain in winter. it's like how you can't get the mermaid pendant in winter because it snows not rains. I think snow was meant to count but it just doesn't. So unfortunately no rain type fish can be caught when snowing.
Utherix Mar 8, 2016 @ 3:31pm
Well, whoever wrote the wiki initially thought that Rain and Snow conditions were synonymous when fishing. They were mistaken. It's possible that this is a bug.
