Stone farming

Anyone know the best place to farm stone (Yes the mine, but are there levels in the mine that are better suited for this than other levels?)

They are random so upgrade your pickaxe a bit so you use less energy and hit the lower level ones for easier rocks.

Make sure to break the big rocks when you can.

go on an unlucky day and you will get more stone/less ore and more monsters - useful for if you want to farm stone and bug meat for fishing bait.

I have found you get 1-2 large rocks by going to level 40 on elevator then down ladder then do 41 and 42 then go back up stairs go to elevator and do again, etc. XD if nothing else plenty of little ones too. Sometimes none but most of the time i've gotten 1-2 large rocks from 40-45.

Just smash the big rocks. Takes like 3 hits with iridium pickaxe.

Also the small, gray rocks give 1-3 stones, every time. Normal rocks aren't guaranteed to give stones.

Grey Rocks in the mine. With an extra öre skill that drop more. 2-4 stone with sometimes 2 coal for me. Big Rocks never pass them

I know I'm many years late to this thread, but in case someone else comes across it, a method I've found works nicely is repeating the top 5 levels of the mine, especially on an unlucky day - harvesting boulders and grey/silver rocks particularly. Start at the top, dig down to level 5, and then go back up to level 1, and repeat. The more you repeat this the more sparse ores become and you just get more and more rock.

yeah the big rocks are 10 stone and like 5 hits to get 10 stone. so just do the earlier levels of the mine, OR go to skull cavern and use bombs. you can buy staircases for jade which get made in a crystallarium so theres no real problem going deep in skull cavern without stone. but yeah just breaking boulders in the mines for 10 is the easy way to get stone.

I'm many many years late to this, but with 1.5 I've found a method that works well for me is using bombs in the volcano mines. the rocks there are usually pretty dense and I've noticed tend to drop a lot more (Maybe since they take more hits to break by hand? Not sure). I got almost a full stack of 999 stone on a good day in one day doing this.

if you got ginger island, you get deconstructors, and buy staircases for jade on sunday at the desert trader and feed them thru the deconstructors for 99 stone per jade

the jade you get from crystalariums.
