I'm about to begin my 2nd year. I have a huge amount of gold to invest in the largest crop my farm has seen so far. And I'll be using sprinklers for the first time. And I want to make sure I got the tooltip right.

The regular ones waters only four tiles? Being up, down, left and right.
And the quartz ones eight? Up, down, left, right and the four diagonals?

Correct. The first ones are pretty much useless. Only craft the 2nd ones which water all tiles touching it.

Put them down on a floor tile (recipe from Robin) or a path of some sort. Then you can till the 3x3 area with the gold hoe without knocking the sprinkler into your inventory.

I disagree that the first sprinkler tier is useless. I used it for a while before getting the others and still got a good use of them. And still use it for a small line of trellis crops in front of the house.

Of course, investing in an Iridium sprinkler is the way to go whenever you can.

I'm the same. But I'm holding off on large patch of crops until i can get iridium sprinklers. So far has been working on animals, fish and mines to gather money

It took me just one season to boom. I spent the entire Fall watering crops, like literally lol

Indeed. Part brewmaster, part lumberjack, some beekeeping and tappering. I keep planting and cutting.
I keep adding kegs, I still have way too many fruits, wheat and hops for the ~60 current ones.

It is a way to recycle them without losing space. Since it waters a trellis line, it is perfect for something along the path.
