Panning = "harvesting" ores from the river using a glorified sieve.
The way you worded sounded as if you were asking what effect got removed from the glittering boulder instead of what is the effect of the bould being removed.
You'll get a new tool that allows you to filter water in some places where it'll be shinning and get a few ores that were on the water.
So, what ores can you get? Everything including Iridium?
And how much usually ? Just 1-2 pieces per couple of hours? Or more?
Don't get happy about it, it's very bad, you'll take a very long time to even find a note where you can do it and you'll get 2 copper or iron ores from it, maybe a couple gold ores, you're better with the mines and quarry.
