Silo/hay storage question
Can you only store 240 pieces of hay or can you build more silos to hold more? Winter is approaching and my silo is already full but there's still a ton of grass I could harvest.

Every silo can store 240 pieces.
2 silos mean 480 and so on.

Building another silo works, but you can also pull out your current hay and store it in a chest or something. But at the moment, there's a bug that doesn't let you pull out hay unless the troughs in your farm buildings aren't already stocked.

I just build a 4th silo. Probably overkill, but I have a lot of grass to harvest come winter and my other 3 silos were full.

You need one silo for 8 animals or birds to survive winter.

Oh wow, I have waaaay more than I need. I'll think about destroying one or two after winter.

You can't directly. You need to use the dispenser inside the coop or the barn. Right click and hold to pull a large amount.

Will any grass regrow after winter, or will I need to buy a whole load of grass starters?

I've got enough grass for winter, but hadn't really considered that I will also need to survive the spring before my grass becomes hay.

On the first day of spring there will be some new grass on the farm. There won't be a ton of it though, and it may not be where you want it. If you want grass in specific places you may need to buy some starter grass.

Thanks, I'll plant some outside my coop/barn but just wanted to check there will be some naturally occurring grass aswell, to refill my silo.

Spring year 2 for me started with quite a lot of random grass that popped up. I'd say sufficient to put 50 hay on the first day back in my silo. Of course, it popped up virtually everywhere *EXCEPT* my pretty large animal enclosure. C'est la vie. Unless you're starting a zoo, you probably only need a couple silos, and they're small enough anyway to just put them in the corner of your farm -- build it and forget it.

I have six silos. All that extra storage means I could proabably survive two winters without cutting anymore more grass with how full they are right now.
