Removing paths

I placed a gravel path on accident and I no longer want it in that location so is there any way to remove it?

yes a pickaxe

Hit it with the pickaxe. You can do the same to remove tilled soil and any machine or chest you want to move around.

Axe also works for removing placed items, just like pickaxe. Unlike the pickaxe, though, the axe won't un-till soil.
