Irridium Rod Not worth it
So I upgraded my fishing pole for the "best" one in the game, however, its not worth the extra energy you need to spend to cast it. If you are hunting a legendary fish then maybe being able to attach a lure might help but otherwise I dont feel its worth it for normal fishing. I think this should be changed as with all the other upgraded tools there is not an increase in energy cost but rather it takes less energy. Fishing seems to be the only thing to suffer from this.

I hate how Tackle only lasts like 5 minutes of fishing. I thought it would be permanent, or at least last a really long time.

I'd be fine with the Energy increase if you could repair Tackle, or it was perm. :p

Supposedly there are several fish, beyond just the legendary ones, which can only be caught while using the Iridium rod. But even if there weren't, attaching lures to me personally means using the treasure lure, because I find the chests make the whole minigame that much more fun.

Well, the best tackle in my opinion (and lots of other ppl) is the the Trap Bobber, it costs only 500g, also it's fairly easy to make. 500g in the late game seems like a really small amount.

Each tackle lasts 20 casts, so just craft 2 or 3 tackle for a day of fishing. They make a big difference! The cork tackle makes your bar so much bigger!

@Dortmunder
Or at the least make the tackles stackable... :/

Yeah but the increase in energy is crazy. Its like 8 energy per cast if you fill the bar most of the way. Which drains your energy bar pretty quick. It makes no sense that I can swing an axe or a mining pick for less energy. I'm sorry but fishing is a relaxing hobby, not hard back breaking work.

How is energy still an issue by the time you own an iridium rod? I always have surplus food on me. A good food item can restore over half of your energy bar. Plus, the starfruits increase your max energy enough that it almost never runs out.

My 2nd tier fishing rod takes about 8 energy to cast as well (at fishing level 4), does it really get that much efficent by the time you can get the irridium rod?

there's some things later in the game that increase your energy bar.
