Suggestion: In game tracking of who likes what gifts.
I think this would be pretty handy and fair.

Once you've given a gift to someone, it should record in the Social panel what they thought of it. Yes, I could look at the wiki, but that feels a bit cheaty. And yes I could write it down, but this is 2016, I shouldn't need to keep a notepad and pen by my computer.

Well, having something in-game to bring up and record someone's likes and dislikes. Kind of works the same if you were to record it on paper and bring it up whenever you wanted.

I see no difference.

Oh, so you are too lazy to ALT+Tab? Or to write down?

Of course something like this would be useful.
OR u go here: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Villagers

That wiki is incomplete and as such is semiuseless.
For example not listed that Alex likes Sweet Pea (flower, foraging).

And the guide here on steam is just like that, incomplete and retarded, why should I cook complex dishes just to gift if there is an easy item to use?

Generally everyone likes eggs so go with that.

well, of course it is.the game fairly new and these wikis are fan-made. so someone has to discover things and change the entries (i notice updates nearly every day btw )

Here's my wiki:

--Everyone strongly likes sashimi, except for Emily, Evelyn, and Kent.

--Emily, Evelyn, and Kent like flowers.

Sashimi = 1 fish

Flower = flower

Done.

Yes but for all I can see there, they tested thoroughly only different cookings on dfferent people.
Complex ones that depend on your fish and farm collections.
Who needs that? I need those dishes for energy/health while in mines, I mean it's like trying to see who likes a diamond.

We need a list of easiest item to obtain deifferent NPC loves. Not likes, but plain loves. For example Shane loves red pepper - which is supereasy to produce.

There is a difference between like nd love here.
Everyone likes eggs should be your wiki.
We needs everyone LOVES... what?

Doctor loves coffee. So once your farm is producing the cash, easiest thing in the world.

Nice find! Keep em coming!

I agree that itr would be a nice in game mechanics, if it actually would keep track of likes and dislikes of the presents you gave to villagrers.
While, yes, I could (and do) just look at one of the 2 SD-WIkis, it would be much more immersive if your character himself would keep track of, how well his presents were received by the different villagers

It would also be nice if the player of the character, whom decides which villagers they actually llike and want to remember things about, would keep track of these things too. It's not hard. An in-game notepad might be nice, But I don't think automatic tracking is necessary personally. Not that hard to find stuff people like, or to remember what those things were. Worst case you can always go to the stuff that just about everyone likes and simplify things.

Abigail: Get the crystalarium form the vault bundle (25K), put an amethyst in it and gift her the processed ones (takes a few days but since u can only gift 2 things a week...)

Leah: Gift her Wine. doesnt matter wich fruit u use (foraging or from ur field) or buy salad at the inn (a bit expensive but 440 A WEEK for 2 LOVED gifts? why not?)

Haley: repair the bus (vault bundles), go to the desert and collect coconuts. done (fun fact: Linus LOVES the cactus fruit, so collect them too)

Maru: same as abigail but with diamonds (i know, find one first^^)

Penny Same as maru. u can use emeralds too. or plant ~20 poppys in summer and ur good.

Oh, and there are only 2 things NEALRY everyone loves: rabbit foot (not penny) and prismatic shard (not haley)

Immersive by opening a floating GUI in your inventory? You yourself are the character and a piece of paper works fine if you want to be immersive. Or memorize someone's likes in real life with your brain.

Actually (without looking at a WIki) I know a few things that my beloved wife Abigail loves (for example Amethysts and Pumpkins) and I also know a few likes of other people ... but having an in game list for all persons, that grows when you (un-)successfully gift things to people, would invite the player to experimentations (in order to have this in game list of likes/dislikes grow and get more detailed).
