Mushroom Trees?

Just to clarify. They seem to be random spawns. I noticed my first one on Fall year 1, but that could have been a coincidence.

But do they? I never saw mine die because I cut them before winter, but according to приzрак they don't seem to.

Mine definitely didn't die, it's spring right now in my game and the trees still stand exactly there where they used to stand.

I don't think you know what an answer is. This is a speculation post not a confirmation post.
Or were you referring to the answer that was posted directly after I bumped?

I have three on my farm at present. One appeared in Fall, Year 2. During WInter it went into a "stump" mode, but in Spring, it sprang back to it's full, umbrella-like glory.

Over the Springtime & Summer, 2 more grew right near the first one.

Chopping them produces a bunch of red mushrooms and nothing else. I've noticed that around the mushrooms are choppable "Weeds". They only have "..." as a description. I am trying to place them around my farm to see if they are "seeds" for the tall mushrooms, but nothing has grown yet. Will keep you guys apprised.

(Oh, and I have mushrooms in the cave).

oh darn I didn't know you could use tapper on them ._. I chopped off two already.
It would be cool if you could plant them, like mix an acorn with mushrooms (even if it took a good amount of mushrooms) to get a mushroom tree seed, I would love to have a farm with only mushroom trees *-*

Afaik they don't grow back, I left a stump for about 2 months and no growing back, same for trees.
Also stump growing back on normal trees from what I heard was a bug that was fixed.

I thought the mushroom stump was the sapling-form; I've never had the giant mushrooms, just stumps.

The first one I had, I didn't know what it was, so I cut it down

After that, I left the others alone, hoping they'd grow into big mushrooms, but they hadn't grown by the end of fall, and I worried that winter would kill them, so I cut them down.

The stumps still produce mushrooms- my mushroom tap is still working in winter, but at a much slower pace.

Oh, mine went into "stump" mode in winter and I assumed it died. So I chopped down the stump and got a purple mushroom.

I'm in Fall, Year 2. I'll try not to cut it to see what happens.
