Loose chickens?

A fence that was keeping my chickens contained while they ran around outside broke one day and before I knew it they were running around all over my farm. I can't really push them, so how do I get them back into their pen/back in the coop?

They should automatically go back inside in the evening.

Wait until evening. They usually go back inside. I haven't put a fence around my chickens and they almost always go back inside by 6-8 pm. Occasionally one will spend the night outside. If I quit and reload the game will put that one chicken back in the coop though. I've also had a cow decide to spend the night outside. Didn't seem to affect anything.

They'll got inside around 6pm. If not then, then the next time it rains.
