As far as farming goes, I think only things that take long to grow, like melons or cauliflower, or maybe things you can only get year 2, like artichokes, count for high quality. Things like parsnips are simple.

I think the only forageables he likes are the rarer mushrooms, like chanterelle... Not the red ones. Those kill him. >_>

I threw in a gold quality potato, the governor really liked the soup. Didn't seem to change anything though, not sure if there's something above the rating I got or what. It was a little disappointing.
