Mining question
So I've just reached level 30 in the mines and it's pitch black if I go deeper. My question is, if I craft + place torches, will they stay there if I leave and come back? (say, I make it to 33 but run out of energy) or will I have to keep lighting the place up?

You can somewhat see the rocks and enemies, which is good enough to slay and reveal exits under boulders - without the help of light. But for convenience, have a torch in your hotbar near your weapon and tools and pull it out to see where you're going every few seconds.

You should be able to see enough to get by or if you use torches / glow rings on the few levels like that you will get by them fast as they are only for a few levels and when you hit the next level 5 you can skip them.

I don't believe they stay as each time you load a new level it changes so once you get past them never visit it again.

I haven't actually crafted torches yet, so I don't know why I thought they were placeable-only, instead of being handheld. Thanks for the replies guys.

You can drop the torches to light the area and pick them up again with the pickaxe or axe. You can gather the ones already in the mine and just keep them. I never crafted any, just used the ones I found over and over.

Whatever you leave behind will be gone for good. :DEALWITHIT:
