Sell prices not static?
So I was looking at the game's wiki (not wikia) and I noticed some weird numbers for the sell priceds of crops. For i.e, hot peppers say

40g (season: ~8.57g/d)

while radishes say

90g ~8,33g/d

Does this mean, 8.57g per day, and what's with the season modifier? I did notice one time one of my crops did sell for 4g more than usual one day.

It depends on the quality of the crop, theres normal, silver star and gold star. Gold star gives the highest amount.

The only time a crop will sell differently is if it's a better quality last time I checked.

Otherwise for the g/d is how much it makes per day once you sell it to give you a better understanding of what ones will make the most when you do sell it.

The prices are static. There are no star, silver star, and gold star products though representing the quality of the product which raises the price accordingly. When you see people mention the G/D that is the gold per day ratio anticipated from a normal quality product over the entire course of the season. 1 hot pepper plant (Note that it regrows) will produce roughly 8.57 gold per day over the entire course of the season assuming you plant day 1.

I should of mentioned that this was a normal crop. I'm aware the starred products sell more, but usually considerably more, not just a mere 4g. Maybe it was my imagination.

EDIT: Just happened again, hops normally sell for 25g as it clearly states in the wiki, and in-game collection tab. Just sold one for 27g. No star.

90g ~8,33g/d

That is, one plant sells for ~90g.

The 8.33g/d is roughly how profit-efficient the plant is, given the time it takes to grow. Just because a plant is worth a lot doesn't mean that it's going to net you more cash overall compared to a faster growing plant.

Silver star sells for +25% of the base price and gold star sell for +50% of base price.

The farmer perk you can get at level 5 also increases crop prices by 10%, which explains what's happening to you Serath.

Generally speaking, berries make the most profit over a whole season. At least, they do if you sell them directly. Strawberries, blueberries and cranberries. They produce rapidly after the initial harvest instead of having the plant die and need to be replaced.

However, it does help to plan some of the more expensive per unit, but less efficient items for jam or pickling. They are more efficient when processed. To make jam from fruit, for example, takes the same amount of time no matter what fruit you use, but the return is based on multiplying the value of the base fruit. It also doesn't matter what rarity the fruit is. It uses the value of the base fruit no matter what, so you can use fertilizer to make it grow faster instead of better quality.

I am not sure if ignoring the quality is intended or not, so that may change at some point. Also, you might switch over to putting the expensive stuff into kegs when you unlock them, though I like to make ale instead.
