Are you feeding them hay as well as letting them out? I know it sounds weird but I think that is the reason why.

They don't always feed on the grass outside, for a while I had grumpy pissy chickens even though they had everything available to them. I now have the deluxe coop/barn and not a grumpy animal in sight.

Probably a bug, go to the Stickied report thread and put it down there

You can open their coops, I tend to always leave it open. I gave them a fenced off area, with some grass so they can graze. Whenever the Day starts, I always go give them hay, and pet em. It could just be a bug on your end :/

Perhaps add a heater and see if that helps
I have the same problem

It's easy you just have to feed them and right click on them every day. also, right clicking on them will not increase their hearts when they are upset. so give them heaters in the winter and let them outside in the summer, Fall and spring ( they will not get lost because thay all come back inside beetween 5PM and 5.30PM) Hope this helps!

You don't need to fence tham off. they can't get lost and always return before 5.40PM You are wasting money/resources on fences/stone walls

not nessarly waisting, but more giving them their own area, have you ever had a ultimate farm with 48+ animals everywhere witch makes it messy and also harder to do what needs doing

Close your coop doors in Winter. THey won't go out anyway and it seems to slow their heart growth.

Give them a heater. A good coop. Feed them. Pet them. And they'll be happy.
