Anyhoo - the question mark is still weird. Also appears by the TV dialogue!
Any time you have to click something where you have a choice it comes up. So TV, shops, questions, ect.
Not sure why it would come up with Junimo Cart, likely a bug.
In the Junimo game, it appears when you can choose to play infinite mode or stages mode, so there is indeed a choice there. I guess that's it then, just a not-so-successful design choice!
Assuming this was indeed the intention (of Concerned Ape), I think it is a poor design choice, because it draws too much attention, while too separated from the content of the dialog, and also intends to indicate something that the user becomes well aware for the first time they see such a dialog.
(Well, I assume all player at some point do realize, that a list of sentence -- all of wich replying to the same question in a different manner -- is an option dialog that a user can interact with, and not the NPC is saying that list. They should also already know to try to use the mouse (cursor) by the time they at the first choice dialog.)
Also there is a question mark at the start screen of Stardew Valley for an about dialog, further increasing the confusion for later boint of the game.
So if it is necessary to indicate user interaction, one possible resolution could be a line before the possible options like "Choose:" os "Select an option:" or something along those lines.
PS.: The game is awesome regardless of this.
