Hard Time Limits?
Is there any content in this game that is time sensitive, or permanently missable?
Just did day 1, and enjoyed it, but get the sense I'm already messing up. If I go in knowing I have enough time to do whatever I'd like I think I'd enjoy it more.
Thanks!

The only thing in the game with hard time limits are the completely optional quests to deliver items to villagers. You also get graded after your second year, but I believe that is only for an achievement. Other than that just do whatever.

Yes and no. It's possible to miss something for the current year. For example if there is a fish you can only catch in summer or a plant you can only catch in summer, and someone asks you for one in the fall, then you missed it for that whole year. But you can just wait until the next summer to roll around and pick them up them.

In other words, it's possible to miss things so that you have to wait a long time to get another chance to get them, but the game has no real ending, so another chance will always roll back around.

At the first day of the 3rd year there will be an "evaluation" of how well you did. But with no gameplay effects. Aside from that, the quests you get at the job board have a time limit (usually 2 days) to complete. But there is no penalty for failing them, you just miss on the reward. Otherwise, there are no time limits that I know of and the game never ends unless you decide to stop playing. =]

Do these have time limits? I've never had one time out yet. I've delivered a requested item up to a year after accepting the request on 2 or 3 occasions. XD

there are timed quests that are outside Pierre's shop on the message board but you can choose not to bother with those and they repeat. Everything else you can do at your own pace - you won't miss out on anything as far as I know.

They stop coming after the two years, but they do not have a limit if you do accept them [but you can miss them if you refuse them]

The nly things that seem to have a hard time limit are the bulletin board-missions
(those are randomized sidequests however, so nothing you cannot afford to miss)

And, I guess, the fact that (almost) all of your crops die at the end of a season also can count as hard time limit

Everything noteworthy else ... no

The quests you get on the mail have no time limit. The timed ones are those you get at the board outside Pierre's, like Kiya said.

Not the ones you get in the mail. The ones on the notice board on Pierres shop. You usually get 1-2 days.

Oh really? Is this evaluation hard to pass, or is it likely I'll earn the achievement? I would hate to miss out on getting an achievement.

Wow! Thanks for the speedy replies everyone! I'm really looking forward to this now. =D

Not sure. I haven't made it that far yet. I got to the end of the first year and started over with the things I learned. I did that with every Harvest Moon game too.

Oh well, it's probably nothing to worry about :3
Good luck on your new save :-)
