Artisan or Agriculturist?
So Artisan - goods are worth 50% more. Agriculturist is 10% faster crop speed.

Which would you pick and why?

I'm at this step and Idk what to do!!

are you going to focus on just selling crops or are you going to turn your crops into wine, jam and etc...
Solaria Mar 5, 2016 @ 8:12am
See idk!!! I like doing both! I know "end game" would be to turn the crops into goods... gah I'm so torn.

artisan is really good. that 10% crop speed is good too, just not really as good (in my opinion)

Actually that is really hard to set up since the berries only give 1-2 seed each and take all season to grow. the caravan lady only sells if you haven't grown rare seeds. i tried it my self it easier to do with acient fruit.

they are equally as good with speed grow and perk you get faster growth with reharvestable crops! meaning you get more harvests with them in one season!

artistan + ale/wine factory = rich

you dont even need useless animals, just fill barn with 50 kegs and be done with it

Artisan. Flower honey is golden. 10% crops speed is nothing, imo.

Take the crops, you will regret it later if you take the other option like me. Crops are the best way to make money by a very very very big margin, it's very unbalanced. Other things like selling ducks, honey, whines and cheese are good extras but the main thing is crops, so go for the main profit. You just need to know what to grow, if you plant two hundred blueberries in the summer you can make almost a million or more in one season, the other sources of profit can't reach 5% of that. Taking note that blueberries are the best crop available in pierre's.

Most decent crops take something like 12 days to grow, 10% 1.2 days, does that round down to 1 day or up to 2 days less grow time?

Doesn't seem that helpful to me, in a 28 day season you can grow a 12 day crop twice a season without the 10% off growing time, or twice a season with it. So it makes no difference other than giving you an extra day or two before/between/after, or am I missing something?

What do you enjoy doing? Making wine may be more profitable but if you don't like the wait, it may be easier to jsut throw finished crops in the box XD I think it really depends on your tastes.
Personally I find the extra steps of having to pet the cow, milk the cow then put the milk in a cheese maker and drop the bucket back off in a chest really really tedious.

On the other hand, tree sap is nice. No watering, no maintenence just pluck and go.

Parsnips take 4. That's a lot of parsnips very very quickly...

From my experience, the 10% is actually more then you think. So in end-game if your planting Star Fruit that is normally 13 days to grow, it actually only takes 9 days with that buff. So you can get 3 rounds of star fruit in the Summer season with the 10% buff. 3 rounds of Star Fruit is a whole lot of money. I usually plant 500 at a time. So 1500 in the season = a whole lot of money

THat's not even close to true.... If you have a large enough winery, you can process ALL your high-value crops, (ancient fruit, starfruit, etc.), and make millions upon millions.

True, Wine is worth 3 times the crop it is made of, with artisan this will be 4,5 times the worth of one crop.

Ex. Starfruit - the crop is wirth 800 (1200 in gold)
the wine is worth 2400 + 50% this will be 3600 (the triple amount of a gold crop!)
sure, you have to wait 8 more days but with enough kegs thats not a problem...

another example ...Ale!
hops grow after 8 days daily (yeah after full grown they will have new crops each day!)
one crop is 25g (37g in gold)
Pale Ale is worth 300g (450g with artisan spec)

You need 1,5 days to make Pale Ale out of Hops so you get more then 10 times the worth of your crops!

10% faster grow can't give you a profit plus of 1000% ;)

Artisans can remain just as productive regardless of season — i.e., even winter.

Unlike Agriculturists.

All you need to do is stockpile your fruit and/or vegetable of choice. :AWESOME:
