Gemologist or Excavator?
Whats better, 30% gem sell price or double the chanceto find geodes?

When I got to this point I was swimming in money but still missing one Mineral. So obviously in that case I took the increased chance of geodes.
When you instead love to sell your gems and make lots of money off it go for the other choice.

Geodes all the way! Even if your goal was making money, chances are those extra geodes will also have some gems/valuable items to sell.
