anyone besides me find the male suitors totally unappealing? I think my only real option is elliot because he sucks the least.

edit: probably sebastion too but still, not a whole lot of options here.

I'm chasing Sebastian, but Sam is growing on me.
Sebastians hikikomori tendencies are kind of close to home - I very much empathize with the extreme introversion. Sebastian reminds me of me. But Sam is the guy trying to pull Sebastian out of his shell. That's a pretty cool thing, and something I myself look for in a partner.

I kind of 'ship' the two of them, actually.

I haven't decided yet but Harvey looks loads better without that moustache so I may go with him although I never married doctors in any HM game. All they ever talk about is health advice and not you. Pppft.

In some seasons, he regularly walks out to the lake by his house at night to smoke.

Frankly, although smoking would be a dealbreaker in real life, I couldn't give less of a crap about whether or not my virtual husband is a virtual smoker. >_>

I kinda like Sam, so I'm focusing on him this playthru. My only real reservation is how childish he is, doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's ready to get married? It'd be nice if there were signs of growing up as you get to know him.

Elliot and Sebastian aren't the worst, but soooo whiny. Plus Sebastian with the smoking thing and Elliot with the Fabio-ness.

Am I the only one who'd like to marry the Wizard? I think he'd make a nice husband. I feel like he'd be more invested in your farm/adventures than the other potentials.

You are definitely not XD If all the other males were opened up as candidates, I'd have to start two new saves - one for the wizard and one for Demetrius.

It's a game, so I don't really care what gender the marriage candidate is. I just what to like them enought ohave to them around. I was thinking of wooing Leah actually, as I like her and befirending her is easy--just buy a salad from Gus once a week and give it to her. But then Sebastian's birthday rolled around--I had to pratically stalked the guy to give him a birthday gift, which I found very amusing--and I then gave him a second gift he loved, and got up to two hearts with him fast. After the first event with him, I decided I liked him, even though I don't know why they needed to make him a smoker. But again, it's a game. My farrmer is an oddball in this town and like Leah, Sebastian doesn't really fit in. So either of those I think would work, but I'm enjoying the challenge of wooing Sebastian the basement loner more than just popping in the saloon now and then to give Leah a salad. :p

I found Linus the easiest to befriend (I'm up to 8 hearts with him) and he's actually really sweet. I love taking him gifts. I wouldn't mind him being a marriage candidate. Pam's easy to befriend too and is really nice to you when you give her giftts. I find it hilarious how she loves me giving her a beer as she's walking to work--as a bus driver. But anyhow, I wish there were older marriage candidates--I rather hate how the game assumes you want to rp as a young person.

Not really into romancing the people at the moment, and the mechanic is a bit lacking to boot, but generally speaking, as I talk to people here and there sometimes ... yeah, no one's very appealing on the surface.

After reading Sebastian's supposed profile on the wiki, he's probably the closest to what I'd aim for. Quiet loner...computer geek...contemplative...I don't mind his occasional smoking. Actually, he sounds a lot like my irl-husband, haha. What I do mind is that he lives with his parents and is probably 30 years younger than I am. Ok ok, I know, my *character* is probably 20-30 years younger than I am, as well, but you know what I mean.

The older fellas in the game - nah. I think I'll stay the famous but reclusive and single farmer of Stardew Valley.

Everyone has issues. It is a game, play as your character and not yourself. You wouldn't go tend a farm by yourself.

eeeeeeeh thing is I always project a little of me into my character and I can't see my character liking any of the males either.

Honestly though I just wanna get me a stardrop, if it weren't considered a milestone to get hitched I wouldn't bother.

Also Shane has wife-beater written all over him although if he tried that with my character he'd end up with a lava katana through the ribs. I totally don't regret using him for slingshot practice.

I actually really like Harvey, and there are a few mods which change his appearance from removing his mustache to giving him a beard to turning him into a full on bear.

That sounds adorable. If he didn't have the skeezy watches-porn-in-the-afternoon look I'd probably go for him just because he seems like he needs to be taken care of.

Maybe I'll just go with leah, she seems like she needs a strong support. Strongly considering sebastian too if only because he reminds me of me when I was younger - minus the smoking.

If it wasn't for the smoking I would consider Sebastian, but none of the men are particularly appealing to me. Maru, on the other hand, was sold on her almost immediately.

Yeah the game serriously needs more bachelors and bachelorettes. We need late commers to the town traditional for the genre, I mean these are alright for the starters, but traditionaly in the genre the best are saved for last. I mean last harvest moon I played on wii I spent a lot of time to try to marry the harvest godess, it just seems the more you improve the town the more the quality of options should show up makes sense to me.

I could never be comfortable marrying a godess personally, I don't like being the beta. ;v

I'd marry the wizard because I married the witch in sunshine isles. Plus I just imagine what a huge nerd that wizard must be, he must have some serious story-making issues to reveal to me.

Speaking as what qualifies as a young adult (25), I find the guys are way too immature for me so it's not just the older ladies. >_> I got tired of teenage drama in HS, I dunno why sam/sebastian/alex can't act like, I dunno, they aren't in HS?

Same cam be said for Haley though. My god. But I unfortunately know of 2 women who were in their 40s who acted like that so I dunno about some people. >_>

At the beginning, the bachelors didn't appeal to me especially visually and I liked the bachelorettes more than the males. Also, I felt that the characters were bit young for me.

But when I got enough hearts and got to know them better, I've really grown to like them.
Like Alex, I found him really arrogant and annoying at the beginning, but know I quite like him. Though I'm going for Sebastian ;)

As for female characters, I haven't encountered a lot of events so I don't know them that well. Personally, I prefer Emily over the bachelorettes.

Just had a "conversation" with Alex in which he said he threw away his shoes because they had a minor smudge on them. Exact words out of his mouth: "I just threw them in the trash. I would've donated them, but I don't like the idea of some weirdo wearing my shoes."

If I could punch any SV character directly in the teeth, I would pick Alex.

I concur with all above statements in support of Clint.

1) One of the few men who actually works full-time, and runs his own business. (Points also to Pierre, but Pierre's already claimed.)

2) Not a jackass.

3) No evidence of being a drunk.

4) Likes Emily, so you know he has good taste.
