Can you walk on crops?

In harvest moon you could destroy crops by walking on them and you'd have to plant them so you can walk around them. Does walking on crops affect them in this game?

Since you typically have to walk on them to water them all (at least initially and/or with the starter watering can/s) ... no, it doesn't seem to hurt them at all. I dance on them all day, nothing happens.

You can walk on most crops without issue. The only crops you'll have to walk around because they are not "passable" are those grown on a trellis or similar, like beans, hops and grapes.

Have you ever danced with the bean trellis in the pale moonlight?

...I think it makes them grow faster.

You can even run over them with a horse and nothing happens.
