Ask about Stardew Valley Fair

So..
The Mayor asked me to bring 9 items.
So I bring 9 gold star items, but in the end I got 72 points and 2nd place.

Any tips to get 1st place?

It has to be varying types of items! and dont add artifacts. they dont have to be gold star you can bring wine, maple syrup, one fish, one crop, and etc...

I bring best, expensive and gold star, crop from each season, best two fish, a diamond, goat cheese, honey, and a wine. Ususally get over 100 points.

I brought :
- resource : battery
- artifact : dry star
- fish : angler fish (it's apparently supposed to be a "legendary fish", so I guessed why not ?" )
- artisan good : honey with a flower flavor (can't remember which... the fall one, I think ?)
- artisan good : jelly (same here, can't remember. Strawberry, maybe ?)
- cooking : maki rolls (just got my kitchen, I had to do some for he community center anyway)
- fruit : gold grape
- flower : gold sunflower
- vegatable : gold corn
With that, I had 90 or 95 points and got 1st place.
I guess I should have brought a mineral instead of second artisan good or artifact, but it was good enough.

You're right. Items value matters.
I brought..
Fish: Octopus, Albacore, and Walleye
Fruit: Cranberries, Blueberry, and Grape
Crop: Yam and Eggplant
Forage: Hazelnut

All gold and got 91 points.

Make sure to keep those items in a chest by themselves if you want to win it every year ;)

But you have to remember to remove the items before you leave the fair...

I brought: Sunflower, Purple Mushroom, Starfruit, Pumpkin, Red Cabbage, Onion, Ice Pip (one of the fishes in the cave lakes), Super Cucumber and Fire Quartz. All Gold Star quality items. I managed to get 99 points and win.
