[SOLVED]Sword aiming, how does it work?
Sometimes it just seems to swing in a random direction, even if I'm facing downward, and my cursor is below me, and there is no enemy above me.

That's a very good question...

I'm leaning towards "it doesn't" as an answer. The combat is terrible.

I assume this is an error or something, I wish it just swung in the direction I had my cursor.

Yeah, I really don't know... I mean, I assume that I just suck at it and it's not a bug, but whenever I'm in the mine, I'm often wondering why I end up facing/attacking in a completely different direction than where I meant to.

I think part of the problem is that you can either move or attack, not do both at the same time.

weird... haven't seen this issue yet and I am at level 105 in the mines

You need to bare in mind that if your curser is close to you, I think 8 squares, then you will swing your sword (or axe or watering can or whatever) towards your mouse pointer. If you move your mouse far enough away (>8 squares) then you will only swing or water or whatever in the direction you are facing.

So, move your mouse pointer away from you if you want to only swing the way you are facing.

This.

You pretty much need to click on the 'tile' you want to attack. If your cursor is further away, it'll just swing in front of you.

Thank you two.

The only problem I have is when enemies are below me. I seem to not have the great of a reach with my sword when trying to kill mobs that are below me so I have to attack close which means I'm more prone to get hit. I almost always try to avoid killing mobs from underneath me.
