What is a Void Spirit?

I'm inside the adventurers guild and on the list of things to kill is Void Spirits.. I checked the wiki and did some google searches and found nothing. What are Void Spirits?

im pretty sure its those black shadow creatures you find in the lava biome, the ones that just walk right at you and have a huge knockback resistance. not the spellcasters with a mask, just shadows

If so, maybe the Wiki or the game needs to be corrected so that they have the same name. (To avoid confusion).

This wiki entry says that the mask guys and the shadows are void spirits, and both could if I'm interpreting it correctly
