Relationships worth it? (spoilers)
So as i understand i've already missed several events because i cannot force myself to run around tossing everyone they're preferred gifts every day.
So much time will go into that, i don't want to play that way, yet i hate missing out on content.

Spoilers allowed what exactly am i missing here, just money or certain marrige options or actual recepies (i would hate to lose the latter).

I like everything about this game but the social aspect, more so because hearts degrade wich i loathe.

Hearts degrade very slowly in this game, I rarely talk to sebastian but he still has the one I gave him. In the late game it is much eaiser to give gifts. For example, I stockpile Amethyst from my machines and give them out once a week. Doesn't take too long.

What do you get out of it? well, cool events where you learn more about each person... letters which give you things every so often (pam is particularly useful at low levels since she gives out batteries and energy potions), and yes. Some unique recepies. Lots of food recepies get sent to your letter box, and some heart events get you crafting ones. Linus taught me how to make a more effective bait for example

My understanding is there is no need for hurry with relationships. You can just delay it until your other things are going well and you have more time to devote to it. Like, you could skip it the first year and then go for them when Spring 2 starts.

But then, I'm the sort that doesn't mind waiting for recipes or community rewards. I don't need them the first year, I mean. I'd rather do those things when I'm more established.

If you decide to pursue relationships to the point of getting a spouse, the benefits can be great. A spouse can (according to the wiki) water crops, feed animals, and even make you food.
