Do copper bars / refined quartz sell for much?
Or would I be better off keeping them for crafting?

Thanks.

You should keep anything that is labeled Resource, you need a TON of Copper and Quartz in the middle/late game.

Not really, and they are useful, so I rarely sell them. Refined quartz is used in the recipe of the second tier sprinkler, for instance.

Ok great, thanks for the info!

Is there any upgrade or anything which makes smelting quicker or allows multiple bars to be made at a time?

Nope, you need to simply make more furnaces.

Ok, I have two, that's working out Ok at least for Copper, Quartz takes a long time but I guess it's more valuable and I will need less of it.

Thanks.

I rarely use quartz, but then again I rarely make sprinklers.

They are also used for other things, the sprinkler example was just the first I remembered.

yeah, but very rarely, and usually one off items. The metals are used FAR more frequently than quartz, which you will just use a few times and then forget it. Plus, you can make refined quartz by recycling broken cd's and broken glasses you get from crab pots and fishing. That alone has netted me more refined quartz than I can even use.

Wow thanks, that's useful to know I usually just throw that junk away, I just unlocked the recycler too!

Out of interest, do you know how much refined quartz sells for?
delerium76 Mar 3, 2016 @ 2:19pm
The wiki says 50 each, so not much. Considering that a normal quartz sells for 25, and coal for 15, you would make 10 coins from each smelt. I still prefer to just fish for junk and recycle it.

Unless there's a second furnace I don't know about, the only thing you can do to speed up the process is craft multiple furnaces.

I'd like to know how you could have read that post, NOT read the answer directly below it, and then post the same exact answer 25 minutes later? C'mon people!

Because I had opened a few threads and replied to other things before getting to this one.

I hadn't realized how much time had passed, so I didn't bother to refresh this page to check for more replies before replying.
