i downloaded it but when i change the yellow nothing else changes

what I did was made a copy to my google docs account. That way you aren't messing with excel/google doc compatibility issues.

Don't bother with that. it's redundant. Just make sure you are logged in to your google docs, and click "file -> make a copy" and pick a name. it will go right into your own docs.
