Personally im planning to grow the repeatable crops in the greenhouse, with one of the fancy fertilizers, I guess they never run out unless the plant dies, which they dont in the greenhouse.
Edit: I wonder if bee boxes can be placed in there with flowers for year round honey?

There are downsides of corse, the bluberry takes 13 days too before the first harvest and only after that it'll give plants every 4 days, also it's not pratical for keg because you'd need soooo many kegs and it would be a pain to put everything inside them.
However, I will accept that different people have different RNG.... I also have not found a singole rainbow shell in all that time. (And I have checked the beach every day for the last 88 days...)
I'm also assuming you take the level 10 Artisan perk because you really should, it's probably the best perk in the game.
One starfruit wine is equal to 39 normal quality blueberries and 29 gold quality blueberries.
However, ancient fruit is the best. Once it's grown it produces a fruit every 8 days, starfruit takes 10 days even with Speed-Gro.
One ancient fruit wine is worth 42 normal blueberries and 28 gold quality blueberries. Ancient fruit actually is free. And you produce it faster than starfruit. The wine itself is worth slightly less, 3375 vs 3600 with Artisan perk, but you make a lot more of it over time and ancient wine costs nothing while starfruit wine costs 480 to make.
Ancient fruit is the best for the greenhouse and you should turn it all into wine. In fact you should just turn all fruit into wine if the base value is greater than 50. Turn the low value fruit into jelly, like blackberries and salmonberries.
True, ancient is always going to be better than anything, even if you don't make wine, but getting a big number of them requires seed makers and time so normally you'll start with another fruit as you can get the greenhouse before even having any ancient seed. I said myself on my post that blue berries are bad for wine and that in the wine point the starfruit is better, but I don't think the greenhouse is a good place to put wine oriented plants as you'll have a bigger trip to bring them to the kegs, I prefer to have the wine plants near my kegs and my kegs are outside because there is no space on the greenhouse, also not everyone have the patience to turn every single crop into wine when you have a huge farm, I for one would never do this, too lazy, maybe 1/3 of what I make becomes keg food and everything else is sold straight up. =P
This changes everything for sure, I honestly thought that blue berries always gave 3 berries, didn't know it was a chance.
Seed makers aren't that expensive to make and it only takes 14 seconds to process. You only need 1 of them and 1 ancient. Plant it day 1 of spring. Plant all the new seeds you get until you have about 8-16 plants, or around mid summer whichever comes first. After that save all of your new seeds until the end of fall.
I did this on this past year and when I hit winter just now I had 83 ancient fruits to plant into the greenhouse. I only need 13 more to fill the greenhouse, that'll easily come
Not really sure what moving them to the kegs has to do with anything. I have a large brewery taking up the entire upper left corner outside and another smaller one between the greenhouse and the house, takes like half a second to hit the first keg. I'm basically tripping over them, sometimes literally. Not that it matters, your kegs should always be full. Store excess fruits, your goal isn't to keg them all immediately. You only have to deal with kegs once every 6 days, it's hardly a chore.
If you take the Artisan perk at level 10, wine multiplies your profits by 4.5x. Even a gold quality fruit gets multiplied by 3x in a keg. You should really never sell a fruit unless it's been turned into wine first, otherwise you're just straight throwing money away.
Sounds great, I'll give it a try.
It has to do with the same reason why I'll never follow that rule of never selling anything without turning into wine first, I'll get very tired and bored and stop playing the game, if the game is not fun to me there is no point on maxing my profit, but that's of corse a personal choice of mine, your way will obviously make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ more money than what I do.
