they grow in every season ( in winter it does not unless you have a greenhouse )

it takes 28 days to grow but it can give fruits later many times

it sells for 2250g and you can make a wine from it that sells for even more, especially when you have artisan perk that adds +50% wealth to these products

you can also put ancient fruit into the seed maker and it will create a random number of seeds , i got around 1-4

I got one in Spring of my 1st year. If I plant it partway thru Spring, will it grow ok? I don't want to risk losing it.

I planted the seed I got in spring and it was ready for picking right before the fall festival, probably what won the grange for me, but keep 1 just for the use of the seed maker

it takes 28 days to fully mature before giving you fruit... so if you want it to give the most fruit withought eh greenhouse plant it on teh first of spring but you cna do it a bit later if you dont mind... also it is best to save the fruit and use them in the seed maker to get more ancient fruit seeds...so you can grow more and more... or save them for when you get the green house...

Anyone know where to get more ancient seeds? I got one from the travelling merchant, but I wasted it during Fall. It didn't even give me a single fruit :(

Is the travelling merchant the only way to get one or is there some super secret dungeon level that I can get it from?

Donating the Ancient Seed artifact to the museum should net you one plantable seed.

EDIT: Also unlocks the recipe to convert any more such artifacts into plantable seeds. Can find the artifact version by digging in the woods or mountain areas, or sometimes in fishing chests.

Whoa! I didn't know that was a thing! Do you happen to know what the artifact is called? I thought I'd already donated a butt-load of them to dear Gunther, but so far I haven't gotten that recipe yet.

Edit: If it's literally called "Ancient Seed artifact" I'll feel like the stupidest person in the world.

Just save at least one fruit to make more seeds later on. You can always find more but it isn't nearly as reliable.

It's also rare that you can get ancient seeds from just processing crops from the Seed Maker, too. I've actually got a few Ancient Seeds this way and would only recommend using it on crops you don't plan on processing for other things (like for wine / jelly / etc).

Well, in that case, I have bad news for you... =P

PS: Just to clarify, yes it is the "ancient seed" artifact. After donating one, you will be able to convert the next ones you find to seeds using the crafting menu.

As far as locations for Ancient Seeds, I got my 1st one from a treasure chest while fishing in the ocean and the 2nd one from some worms.

I've gotten about 3 seeds from fishing. You initially want to want to plant them in spring and put all the fruits into the seed maker. Once they die in winter you should have several more seeds than you started with. Then you want to get your greenhouse repaired and plant them all in there.

Also, when using the Seed Maker with other crops, there is a rare chance that the Seed Maker will produce an Ancient Seed.
