Catfish in the wiki

Has anyone managed to catch catfish in winter? I tried every chance I had during my last winter (and it snowed a lot, so I tried many times) and got nothing. Now, on the first rainy day of spring I went fishing on the same place I tried during winter and, much to my surprise, caught the damn thing. Was I just really unlucky or is the wiki wrong and it can't be found during winter?

Catfish is only on rainy days of spring, it can't be found during winter because it has to be raining and it can't rain on winter (snow is not counted as rain on this game).

Are you sure? Because that would mean the wiki page is wrong (and that is my doubt). In the "fishing page" on "catfish" it states that it can be found on "River, Forest Pond", during "Spring/Fall/Winter", as long as the weather is "Rain/Snow".

I'm quite sure, the wiki is very outdated and incomplete in may points so always take it with some salt, just like you I spent the whole winter trying to catch him, the catfish and the red snapper are the only fish I'm missing to complete the bundle, and got no luck, snowing almost the whole winter, fished for hours and hours every day, no catfish.

I understand. I spent many days fishing all over the map looking for it and no luck. But I found the red snapper. It's been a while, so I don't remember where or when it was now. I only lack the pufferfish and the sturgeon now. According to the wiki I'll have to wait 'till summer to try getting those two. I wonder if that's accurate.

Red snapper is on rainy days of summer and fall I think, I'll get him next month, my only problem so far is the lack of rain, almost on the end of spring and not a single raindrop.
I got a huge lot of sturgeons on the winter, used one for the bundle and sold the rest, the puffer I bought from the black market lady that appears south on fridays and sundays, also bought the rabit leg and a couple more hard to get bundle itens that I don't remember now, her prices are quite painfull but she'll save you a huge lot of time if you get lucky.

Yeah sadly I had a request which pays 600gold for a Catfish in Winter and I can't catch anything like how the wiki said, I think thats why we always need to keep an extra of each some resources so that we could finish requests like this.

If you can't already, you should soon be able to craft a rain totem, similar to the teleport ones. It should improve the chances of raining the next day. I think it's tied to the foraging skill too. I can craft it already, but never needed to force rain after I got the ability.

Not there yet, just need 1 more level, I'm collecting berries and onions every day as spring is the best season for foraging and I hope to get the level up before it's too late so I can make the toten and get that damm fish already instead of waiting another year, I'm very unlucky with rain, got 1 normal rain and 2 storms on the whole first year and that was it.
