I had that exact same thought to be honest. It's rather ominous to find a creepy altar hidden in the corner of your otherwise normal farm.
Don't forget that this farm of yours was your grandpa's farm.
You can still do all the community center quests, get to know all the townies and do the hunters guild quest too. There is still a LOT to do!
Once a list of Grandpa's testing stuff is up I'm gonna start another game.
But there's a lot of magic and stuff in the game. There's a Wizard, monsters in the mines, a TV channel that accurately predicts your luck for the day, weird relics, and a fruit that upgrades your stamina because it's essentially magic in fruit form. I think the game wouldn't have half the charm without it, personally. It clearly isn't set in our world anyway, if you read the books in the library once you've dug a few up.
