Here I am with my steel smallsword untill I gone fishing and found NEPTUNE'S GLAIVE.
Level 7 Sword
It's 18-35 damage
But what does the weight do? Is weight bad?

Swing a weapon without weight, swing your new, compare.

Honestly I am not sure what it does but my guess is that it might have to do with knockback. Generally speaking that sounds like a decent sword not an OP one (maybe OP where you are in the mines).
So far I am guessing speed is swing speed and weight is knockback but I am going purely on guess work with minimal experience and evidence to back it up.

weight is basically how far your weapon will push the enemy back, heavy weapons send them miles, light weapons barely keep em off you

That matches my theory but do wish to ask if there is actual evidence to support or is it more guess work like my idea?
Also if that is the case I want LESS knockback not more since can really be dangerous for high knockback since slimes getting knocked out of range then jumping in to hit me is likely my main source of damage.

My best guess would have been that weight effects how far they can push you back and if it slows you down at all. Should have just been called slowdown, or have a book at the adventurers guild explaining the stats on equipment :P

personal testing, and yeah hated the more knock back of some weapons, ended up using daggers mostly because they knockback very little and attack as fast as I click, still needed to pin enemies against walls though :/

Seems at least our evidence is supportive ish. I go swords since I like the arc of the swing, it offer a lot more defense while attacking, coverage etc. Also think can push higher damage per hit with a sword but crits and such with daggers likely peak a lot higher.

swords do more damage per swing/crit for sure but daggers speed is silly if you click fast enough, though I always kept a sword as well for the times you needed the arc such as windy cave event

Prefer to keep to 1 weapon myself but when I was going from 20-90 in the caves did use a dagger a little because damage wise was vastly better than the floor 20 sword I had but I only used it a little and ditched it quickly.
