best location to put crab pots?

anyone know the best locations to place crab pots so i don't get so much junk?

It doesn't matter where you put your crab pots, it's just a random chance everywhere that you get trash/fish.
I tend to personally put mine down straight lines, so on the far end of the ocean/along the line of the river/along the line up at the lake

if i leave the crab pots alone will the contents change each day? should i wait to harvest until the fortune teller says i'll have good luck?

basically a few in the ocean and a few in the river/lakes will get you all the fish (as some only show up in ocean and some in freshwater) I dont beleive they automatically change but as bait is cheap/easy to get theres no real reason not to empty them each day and bung what ever into recycling

Also with the minecarts repaired it can be very easy to get there rapidly.

It seems that when you put better bait in your pots and you get less trash. Linus will teach you a better bait recipe if your friendship level is high enough

Yeah.. he taught me that recipe before I looked at the requirements for the oil press. Put me in slime debt over two dozen peices of bait. :/
