Missing Rare-Crows?

bought a rare scarecrow from the spring festival and its gone, does it eventually break like normal scarecrows or do they take longer to do so? thought it would be cool if they were permanent, considering how much they cost...

How far into the game are you? My very first scarecrow has yet to break and I'm in Fall of my second year. All of my rarecrows are also in their usual spots as well.

ah okay ive figured it out, its just bad luck then. every time ive found a broken scare crow theres been a piece of wood there, so debris from a storm has fallen there, which happens to crops sometimes. im in my first year of fall too.

Man, that sucks to know. I would really hate for my rarecrow from the fair to break after how much time I spent in that fishing tent getting the tokens for it! Hopefully you don't have it happen anymore in the future.

I think its bug, previously my mayo maker got replaced by a piece of wood, i initially thought the tools we got got a certain lifespan but turns out its a bug

The bug basically replaced anything that in its spawn point

Storms have lightning, lightning hitting stuff breaks it. At least that is what I have seen like lightning hitting a tree and such. The lightning rod seems to protect stuff but not sure of the range.

I have one of the rarecrows missing, the one that you get after donating 40 items to the library. It was never given to me, so I can no longer end the game, as I need al the scarecrows to get the deluxe one. Any ideas?

well, my pitchforking and torchswinging aside, since a few (many fews) patches long ago you shoud get the chance to rebuy it at the special vendors stand at the nightmarket.
also you dont need to actual still own the SC as long you owned it at any time (after sayed ancient patch) .
and are you sure it the one from the museum (Tiki and Bear) you missing? many ppl dont know you need one from the casino (Alien) too....

6 years late, I know, but this sounds like your scarecrows were destroyed by "spreading weeds" as the game calls it. If you receive the message "Your spreading weeds have caused damage to your farm" when you wake up, you should check your entire farm to see what went wrong. Even if no crops were damaged, other items such as flooring can be destroyed from such an occurrence.

I have never seen a scare crow break, in over 12 years of in game time play. But I have had items dissappear from my inventory.
What I discovered recently is that if you use the name+id code cheat to get free items, you some times get punished for "Theft" in game. Recently I use the code to get free STARDROP's when ever a villager said my name. However, while I got a Stardrop and my energy bar rose higher, what ever tool I had equipped at the time DISAPPEAR .

When I realized I was losing my tools for cheating, I wanted to go back to the wizard to change my name in his basement, but it was the beginning of the game and he wouldn't let me in!!! I must have lost a dozen tools before he finally let me use his magic.
I had to keep using CJB cheat to get my tools back. lol.

iT IS THE TIKKI AND BEAR ONE. i'VE BEEN TO THE NIGHT MARKET TO TRY TO GET ANOTHER ONE BUT IT'S NOT AVAILABLE TO ME, WHICH MAKES ME THINK THAT i NEVER GOT IT.

I have lost two of my rarecrows recently as well. No mods, no cheats. I suspect they either got struck by lightning or went down to spreading weeds. Waiting for festivals to replace them, I guess.
