Is there a minimum distance to plant regular trees?
When you are on the shop and see the seedlings it says that it must not have anything near x spaces, but the regular trees (oak, mapple and the other one whose name escapes me at the moment) don't say anything like this. So I planted some leaving 2 spaces between each, because even if you can plant them next to each other I prefer to leave a little space. Time passed and even though I planted all of them at the same time only one grew up (I planted 3 of each on a 3x3 formation and only the middle one grew).
So now I'm wondering if maybe you have to leave a certain distance or the growth time is kinda random when you plant them from acorns, pines and seeds.

I would like to know this too! I planeted two next to each other (acorns?) and I've yet to check on them.

Supposedly they all grow no matter the cluttering around them. I made a wood on the second half of the map in Winter and am now waiting for them to grow (7th Spring).
I made very long lines separated by one line.

Some do grow properly each near the other, but strangely I see little growth for most of the others.

Here's a screenshot of one of my characters that's a lumberjack.

But have to ask if they all will eventually fully grow. Because while going around the parts of the farm I haven't cleared yet, I've noticed small sprouts next to the big trees, but these don't seem to grow completely. The only trees that are fully grown seem to be somewhat appart from each other. Also, is there a way to get the big stumps for hardwood or do you have to look for them elsewhere?

For the trees I believe they do grow full size. Still in the process of waiting for them to grow for my tapper farm.
For the stumps, get the Steel axe and go to the north west part of the forest, there is a hollow trunk barring the way to a small forest with respawning stumps

In the end, yes, the did grow up eventually (Most of them at least, there's a couple that are still sapplings). Took around a month of maybe even a little more.

Now the issue is that I planted them the wrong way. Placed the same ones on a vertical line, so If I want to expand to plant them together I'll have to take them down to place the same on an horizontal line.

if you want to recolt the thing, you need to have the 8 space empty around the tree, i don't remember where i have view this, but it's this they say same for the normal tree, because if you want to be able to take the ssed, they need space to drop it, but you can have seed and nut if you chop it down,

you can shake the tree too such as a bush, the bush give you fruit when you shake it, for the normal tree, you can shake it, but they seem giving nothing, i have not trying with fruit tree such as an apple tree, but perharps if you shake it they drop more apple, such as the reality...
