Way I see it: what's the point of gold on items you can't find?
Then again, I'm more interested in said items for the sake of cooking n' crafting, and less concerned about money.
Here's a screenshot with an arrow to the north, west and south:

I recommend picking the perk that helped with gameplay itself rather than going for a little extra cash.
I gather items to craft/quests too, so I wasn't very interested on quality, indeed, I do prefer low quality ones for these 2 purposes... tho, you have a point about inventory space, and in the end I could simply keep using max quality ones even for quests/crafting, if all those I find will be that way (they'll be common, so I wouldn't have to worry about quality at all)... Cash is the last of my concerns. Will mushrooms in the cave near home also be of max quality?
I think Tracker would've been more useful if arrow would've changed color according to the type of item it is tracking... so one would just go get those required in that moment... As for me, I go around for some gathering in closer zones almost every day...
but yeah only for example on your farm or on the road to the town.
Thanks for the clarification, I guess I'll go for the latter. :) I can't think of a place where Tracker is actually needed beside the forest south of my farm... and I usually haven't time to visit it entirely anyway.. I visit the other zones very often by myself and it's kinda hard to miss any gatherable. So this way it is not very useful for me.
