Building (silos, coops, barns) placement?
I obviously havent got this far (been a sole farmer my first two seasons), but I want to get at least a coop and a silo before winter.

When I buy these from Robin, does she give me a blueprint and allow me to place it wherever i want? Does it automatically place at a specific place (where the damager building is)?

Does it take X number of days?

You're able to select where she places coops, barns, silos, wells, etc. It takes her a few days to complete them, as well; but I've heard that animals are fine living in a coop/barn that's being upgraded.

Thank you. Do I need to put my silo next to my barn/coop or does it automatically place the hay I cut from my farmland inside these facilities?

when you select to buy it the screen goes to your farm and lets you selct where to place it. But make rure you clear the area you want to put it before hand because if there's even grass in the way she will say no, and you'll have to walk all the way back to your farm and clear one tile.

you just need a silo on your farm as far as i can tell. then you can access the hay from inside the coop/barn

^^^ Thx. Damn, I wasn't expecting that. Guess I need to plan this out a bit more (was 70% sure it was automatic placement). Anyone got a good link with farm viewpoints lol. Need some ideas

The way building works:

You must have the materials on hand when you go to Robin.

When you build a building, you can place it anywhere that is clear. So you must clear out obstacles before hand.

Robin will begin building it the next day. Silo takes 1 day, I think most other things take a couple of days. She does not work on a Holiday.

When it comes time for the Big/Deluxe coop and barn, you upgrade one of your pre-existing buildings. It does not change the building size so you don't need to worry about boxing in your buildings.

If you want a second Big/Deluxe animal building, you must place the basic one, then work up from there.

Lol figured this out awhile ago, but thx anyways! Might help someone else who may have the same question.

When I place my chicken coop and I decide later I don't want it there, can I move it?
Wolf Mar 22, 2016 @ 3:19pm
Not at the moment. You must demolish it and pay for another one. The dev has mentioned that he wants to be able to let you move them in the future. I believe he specifically mentioned it about the stables but I think he also means to do it for other buildings as well.

Thats a neat build planner. Does the house change at all outside when you upgrade it?

The appearance changes, yes. But it will always occupy the same space outside, as will all other buildings you can upgrade.
