Mushrooms or Bats?

The scientist just walked up to me and asked if he could set up mushrooms or bats in the litte cave by the north entrance to the farm. Which of the two choices would be worth more money?

mushroom is more useful as they are much harder to find. the fruits are random too but most fruit are extremely easy to access yourself.

Also Idk if I'm just unlucky but I can spend days without having fruits from my bats, and when I get some it's only 1 :(

Fruit Bats are horrible since it goes through RNG to check if it'll spawn any fruits that day.

Mushrooms are at least more consistent, so you gain more money on a weekly basis.

Btw go to fruit bats u can easily find mushrooms left to the wizard's tower once u get stell axe
and the berries which bats drop are very rare sometimes

Gonna add something to this necro'd thread anyways.

Fruit Bats provide fruit randomly and not very often but it provides foragables and tree fruits from any season.

Mushrooms provide 6 random mushrooms (truffles not included) every 2 days from all seasons.

I say the mushrooms are the better choice. The mushrooms appear more frequently than the fruits and have more of a use.
Sell the common mushrooms and keep the other types, as they can be turned into Health Potions which are really useful late-game.

Eventually you'll get fruit trees making the bats useless. Mushrooms cannot be grown unless you pick the mushroom cave. So for a more well rounded farm go mushrooms in the cave.

the mushroom are better IMO because you can get all the ingredients for an elixer of life without having to risk your life in the mines.

I say fruit bats. As far as I see, the cheapest fruit (not including salmonberry) is about 50g. Fruit bats leave various fruit in the Cave on your farm. This is a great option for making Artisan Goods as it gives you a slow but steady supply of fruit even out of season. It also helps complete the Artisan Bundle in the Pantry in the first year or two, before you have enough money to buy all the necessary Fruit Trees.

Fruit Tree fruit make excellent gifts for villagers because they are universal likes, readily accessible early in the game, and do not require a kitchen. Gifting may be the best late-game use for fruit, other than making Artisan Goods, Shipping them, finishing the Bundles, or eating them for extra energy (even though they don't replenish very much health).

Fruit found in the cave can be of any quality (normal, silver, or gold). If the Botanist Profession is chosen, the fruit will be iridium quality whether mushrooms will always be normal quality.

Technically you can tap big mushroom trees if you get them

well if you wanna money take the mushrooms
if you wanna unlock the greenhouse in the first year take the bats

Mushrroms are more profitable and give more energy and health. Bats provide fruit, which can be used to turn into jams/wines and used in the community center. They aren't worth a lot though.

I generally go with mushrooms because they are more profitable, however for my first file I went with the bats. They really helped me out for the center, so I think they're better for learning how to do it.
