No hardwood respawn? How to get more?
I'm at year 2 summer, and I've chopped all the hardwood on my farm. They're not respawning and I don't know where to get more for crafting and building the stable! Help?!

Have you found the forest to the west? Take the exit that's south of your farm to go the forest area that has the wizard's tower and marnie's place. Then go to the very, very top left corner and you'll see a log that can only be chopped with an iron axe. That log is blocking a path...

But they respawn every day. =]

12 hardwood a day should be plenty, you can have enough to build the stable in about 5 days.

The hardwood doesn't respawn in the secret forest part either D:

The Hardwood Stumps in the Secret Woods do indeed respawn every day.

If they're not respawning for you, then you've encountered some sort of bug.

Be sure you're actually in the right place though: http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Secret_Woods

Only way to find hardwood is in the secret forest where 6 stumps respawn every day or in the caves. I know the mid-game struggle of finding it, the best advice I can give you is to upgrade your axe to iridium and chop down trees until you hit 10 foraging for the perk that gives you hardwood from normal trees as well.

By the time you can get Lumberjack, you're unlikely to still need it.

Gatherer->Botanist is far more lucrative.

Only if you can be bothered to spend time collecting truffles.
If you're setting up a winery/house upgrades/fences then you'll have to spend ages chopping yout measly 12 hardwood in the forst.

To each his own, I just don't see how gold quality foraged items are worth anything when artisan goods like wine is what makes the money.

That's why I chose the forest farm. I'll never run out of hardwood again!

That's great and all but it's still only really shows profit if you can be bothered to collect truffles each and every day. I would rather not do that and have lots of hardwood to spare.

But you can do that AND have enough hardwood to spare because 12 a day is easily enough and you only need so much of it.

Wasn't enough for me, I would rather not spend over an entire game month chopping 12 logs a day. You need 370 for the stable, farmhouse and kegs, not taking fences/totems and other things.

I have zero use for foraging so clearly this benefits me more.
