The Fall Fair
Please gods, have mercy.

Slingshot or fishing.

Time to fish up every star token I need. :tshock:

If you do well with your display, you'll get tokens from the mayor. Also, I didn't really think there was anything good to purchase at the fair anyway.

I got to 100 star points off of fishing then just did a 100 point bet on green with the Wheel of Fortune until I had enough to get everything. I only lost two spins out of about 35. Seems the higher you bid the less likely a win is

unless you are really good with slingshot i prefer fishing, if you can catch the fish perfectly you will get a bonus, i was able to get at least 150 star tokens each time i played.

Not to interrupt the main topic, but does anyone know how many tokens for 1st place display? No matter how many gold-star items or expensive-selling products I put in there, I can only ever seem to get 2nd place, which is 500 (whatever is the amount to buy the hat).

...I don't think I could stand to fish or do any of the other games for as long as it would likely take (me) to get 1000's or whatever. 8)

You get 1000 for 1st place[stardewvalleywiki.com].

You apparently need 90 points to get first place. I won with 92 by focusing on item value, after 3-4 failed attempts before that which got me mid-/high-eighties.

The Wheel of Fortune also seems rigged; it tends to land on green more than on orange.

From what I've read, it seems that the less you wager, the more rigged it is, with multiple suggestions I've seen saying that you have to bet under 200 to consistently win with green.

I did a bit of fishing and won first place, but I made most of my tokens by betting on the wheel, from 150-199.

Might just be confirmation bias, but I did seem to win more often when I was betting less than when I was betting more.

In the 1st year, I got about 150 to 200 points per fishing game (~6 fishes caught, 4 perfects almost every time). So just grinded that until I could buy everything in the stall. Was good practise for fishing too I guess.

There is a bug i found at fall fair. I always win the gambling cuz the wheel always spin to green. EVERYTIME.

I won the fair on my second year with a score of 97 and got 1000 tolkens, the other 1000 I got from fishing 4 times, getting around 250 tokens each time (you just have to hit perfect with every fish and it'll get around 250 tokens, the perfect multiplier is awesome and the fishes you can catch there are easy stuff). I actually ended up with 1999 tokens and had to win the strength thing to get 1 extra token.

How do you win that fair thingy? Can you see your points as you place items on display? I had gold star goat cheese and cow cheese, I saved some gold star veggies fruits and flowers for it but still Pierre wins. Do you/can you place a full stack for more points or make a set of just veggies fruits or produce?

btw fishing seems to be more forgiving, fish are easier there. Slingshot requires more skill, and if you have money to spare you can buy tokens to fill the gap if you don't have enough for an item on token shop.

You only see your points after your display has been judged.

See my link to the wiki in my post above for more details.

You can't see or know them beforehand, but it takes into account the money value of the things, the quality and there is a small multiplier for variety, so I used 3 expensive gold star crops, a diamond, a gold star goat cheese, a starfruit wine, two very big and gold star fishes of expensive species, and smething else mineral related/mining related that I don't remember what it was, so I had 2~3 things from the 4 mains sources of income for variety and everything was high priced gold star stuff, after I sold the stuff after the fair I got almost 10k for those 9 itens.
