crystals in the mine

does anyone know when in the mine im at levels 60+ but for a while now there are crystals that sound hollow when u smash them...do they actually make loot if smashed in the correct way or are these just there to ...be there

you referring to quartz?

They start showing up around lvl 60 to 70ish and are very common after level 90 to 100.

Quartz shows up way before then. It's on every level, maybe 5+. My brand new character, first trip into the mines has quartz.

no not the quarts..that is an actual collectalbe thing...im talking about the glass crystals that appear just to do nothign at all

Rith I think they are there just to be there same as the small shrubs, except those occasaionly give you fibre I suppose.

I got frozen cystal berries (standard winter foragable) when smashing some once but I was fighting a monster so not sure if it was a monster drop of came from the crystals with a really low drop chance.

Quartz shows up way before then. It's on every level, maybe 5+. My brand new character, first trip into the mines has quartz.

You're right and wrong in that quartz is on most levels but its not very common until mid to later levels where you can easily get it a couple times on each level.

what im talking about 1st shows up when u start seeing snow in the mine...they are not quarts... thay are hollow glass crystals that make a shattering sound when u smash them...they arrear to be/do nothing at all cept immershin/somethign differnt to the scenery

I've had a refined quartz drop from one once but I've smashed hundreds of them so I guess its pretty rare.

They are just ice crystals, you're right they do nothing they are just there as art/scenery

you can make refined quartz at a 1:1 ratio if you throw it in your furnace
