I believe we call that a "superstition" :P
Coming from a fortune teller...that sounds about right.
You know instead of being a jerk you could just answer simply with yes or no to the question. Or instead of sighing explain exactly what I said that is incorrect. Of course nothing I said is incorrect, though. If you google something and it comes up, great. If you google something and it doesn't come up then you still don't know whether or not it exists.
To actually answer the OP's question, after much more than 5 seconds of searching, I have actually found a mod that makes fishing easier.
Here ya go: https://github.com/kevinmurphy678/Stardew_Injector/releases/tag/0.031
Extract the rar into your game folder. Open the config file with notepad, and make easier fishing true. It also can make bubble spawn more regularly, it can alter run speed, and it can change the speed time passes. Launch the game using Stardew_Injector.exe. I just tested it, and it makes the fishing meter not go down so you'll always succeed but you still have to put the bar over the fish.
Hope this is what you're looking for.
Indeed. It says patch shouldn't break the mod, but who knows if it will or not.
I'm not the one being a jerk.
You made a comment, I answered it. Simple as that. You then made an illogical and ignorant comment, and instead of "being a jerk" i just sighed. Sighing is not indicative of hostility. If you think it is, then maybe you're too defensive.
On the point though, the OP neve actually asked if there was a mod or not ( or any question at all ), just that they wanted a mod. There's a distinct difference.
And yes, if you google something and you can't find it...that answers your question on if the mod is there or not. It may not find Hoffa's grave...but if you can't find a link in the first few pages, or the relevant topicshows now relevant links to related material shortly before the first page of links ends...you can surmise with great accuracy that it's too early for modding in general and/or the mod does not exist.
I googled using a super generic term "Stardew valley mod" and it promply showed 3 places where any "modding" was being done. 2 of which were actually cheatengine scripts/lua. The link you provided, is also not a mod. But arguing the semantics of what the OP asked vs your moral interpretations is probably not going to further the discussion, or "answer yes or no".
Someone who starts the conversation with a passive agressive statment needs not call the kettle at all.
I don't see how people struggle with this simple mechanic..
You may be a level 1 farmer, but you sure as heck can plant seeds and water them. Progress! Incentive to work more!
You're a level 1 miner, you can break rocks. Progress! Incentive to work more!
You're level 1 in combat. But you can kill slimes! Progress! Incentive to work more!
Fishing is just fail. Fail. Fail. Fail. Fail. Fail. Oh, you got lucky, you caught one fish! Fail. Fail. Fail. ....
Why the heck would I do something not fun over and over with the idea that "it will get bettter" once I unlock a new rod and get 4 more levels?
Don't forget that if you don't like being a level 1 farmer, go be a badass miner and get a gold/irridium hoe and become a badass farmer by having a leg up.
You literally can't get a better pole to make yourself feel better. Why the heck would I level fishing when it's just so degrading and I have all of these other skills I can feel good while I level?
tldr: "practice and it gets better" is a piss poor answer to something frustrating and not fun.
I was fishing during a rainy spring afternoon at the ocean pier and getting nothing but sardines that just sit at the bottom of the reel and require almost no effort to get.
If you're fishing in the rivers fighting to reel in catfish/pike with no skill and a bamboo pole no ♥♥♥♥ you're going to have a bad time, those kinds of fish are tricky at the best of times.
I've come across roughly equal posts from people who claim you should multiple click as from people who claim you should hold the mouse button for best results. The community itself is divided on the best way to manipulate the mini game.
It's not a "simple" mechanic. The sluggish behavior of the bar and the indirect control you have over it is somewhat complex. The fishing mini game in Tochlight is a simple mechanic. The mini game from Fable was also a simple mechanic (and a challenging one). This one is not.
That said, I really don't like how polarized the fish in this game are. I can deal with the "I'm fishing drunk while standing on a see-saw" controls, but half of the fish barely move while the other half act like they have ADHD, moving all over the place. Lingcods are really bad, and very common in rivers in the winter. Also don't say it's supposed to be hard because fish sell for alot. I can make just as much money mining the lower levels as I can at level 10 fishing, and even more than both of those by farming.
Yeah..and its entirely inconsistant with quality of fish or type of fish as well.
Not to mention that "Fish AI" will go from "derr derr derr" doing nothing to "im at the top of the bar now" in 1 second...instead of just being jittery or not jittery.
There is way too much randomization in fish behavior ...and controlling the fishing pole seems like a bad case of "Winter Olympics NES" with slapping the rol pad on the ground instead of using it to run.
