Opinions? Combat classes Fighter and Scout.
Fighter gives you a 10% damage boost + 15 HP

Scout gives you a 50% increase in crits.

Thoughts?

Fighter is more reliable, scout is more to chance? I don't think any has a huge advantage over the other, unless you find a weapon more for critting. I think I found a dagger related to crit but don't remember if it was crit chance or damage boost.
theres rings that increase dmg or chanse for crits..and sience u never oneshot mobs later on i guess scout is better...the 15 hp is a joke xD
Went with scout and I'm seeing crits every other or every third hit give or take.
Which would suggest that 50% is additive not multiplicative.

Simply put, do you want a flat +10% with some health or an averaged out increase from whatever the crit damage multiplier is?
Honestly I went more for health and flat damage and am pretty happy with it, the extra health is a nice safety net.
I went with scout, and I like it alot. I feel like im critting alot more :D
Scout here.
I basically went full ham maximizing damage and crit, and haven't had any problems.
Granted I've died a few times, I think 3? In the mines since I started, now I'm on my second year on two characters both I've got to floor 120.
I'm currently often critting for 130+ so.

Basically the real question you should be asking yourself is, do you die often?
If not then just go full damage, when it comes to damage I believe the crit increase is gonna serve you better, and then damage ring and crit chance/power ring.

Hope there's combat updates for this game at some point, adding new weapons, and maybe some bosses. :P
I understand it's not the main point of the game, but I like exploring the mines and selling gems more than managing my farm lol.

Think it also varies on how much safety net you want, I actually crit up to around 230 ish without scout. Combat level I think is currently 9.
I went with scout and it most certainly is not an additive 50% (meaning you crit 50% of the time). I cleared a few levels in the mines and I only got a few crits out of dozens of swings.

I didn't take the daily fortune into account though, so I don't know if that affects crit chance or not.

Considering we don't actually know what the base crit rate is, I'd rather have a reliable 10% increase. Good thing I made a save backup before choosing.
Level 10 Combat, took perk that increased damage by a flat percentage and gives HP. Last perk gave me 25 HP.

Total HP is 180.

Uses weapons that give defense and best defense boots.

It's not too bad.

So... which is it...?

Part of the problem is that at the moment we don't know fully, information is limited.

Well, even without knowing the exact details, there's a big difference between "Now I crit on every other attack!" and "I picked Scout, but I hardly crit more than I used to."

I just levelled up and I have no idea what to pick... I was hoping to maybe hear a third (or fourth, or fifth opinion).

Now I'm just stuck on the night screen, having to make a choice... maybe I should just flip a coin... >.>

Considering the level 5 skills affect the level 10 choice consider basing it around that.

And I just picked scout before seeing you reply... lol

I should have looked there first, thank you.

I did consider that, but last time I checked that page it was mostly empty; I should have guessed there was a lot more info now.

I figured I'd take scout and report back.

Now I'm wondering about special moves, though... first time I hear of those. Where/when do you get them?

It is right click with the weapon. From what I can tell swords do a block thing or something and daggers do a multi thrust. Honestly I just swing and have them hit the swing to block. The dagger thrust is nice but too limited arc for me and I prefer a wider hit.
