cave unlocking requeriments?

so i heard in summer 1X demetrius is supposed to appear in your house and tell you to choose what to do with the empty cave in your farm but im already at day 22 and still nothing.. do i need to do something first to unlock the cave option?

I believe it's tied to reaching a certain depth in the mine, Floor 40 i think

Don't believe it's tied to the mine, as i've yet to get to 40 (@35), and he showed up a while ago to do the cave thing.

Not sure on the exact date but it was quite a way in, definitely mid to late summer, before he showed up.

Seems like a stretch but could it be triggered by one of his fetch quests or possibly a mail quest (can't remember if he actually sent one or not)?

well i have already 3 hearts with him also already completed a few of quests for him.. so i don't think its that >w<

I got a quest for him to deliver a melon before he showed up to ask about the cave. Have you done that one yet? Some time had passed after I delivered the melon to him and the morning he showed up to ask about the cave.

I had gotten only to mine level 10 when he showed up one morning. It's definitely not tied to reaching mine level 40.

edit: I had either 0 or 1 heart with him at the time.

I've done NO relationship quests with him either, so I don't think thats tied to it.

It just happened for me near the end of summer. not sure how i triggered it and i'm not past 10 floors in the mine even.

yep i did that quest too but he only gave me a recipe via mail :/ day 23 of summer and nothing yet.. i hope he shows soon

I just got it on the 26th of Spring. The only major thing I did was the day before my Coop was finished and I bought 4 chickens. Other then that Ive done pretty much what you have after reading everything.

I hadn't built the coop or bought any animals at all when he showed up.
