How do I get chickens?

I just built a coop.

You have to get the lady at one of the shops to build the coop for you, then you go down to where they sell the animals (South of ya house) and buy the chickens.

You also probably want to get a silo before you buy the chickens. The silo lets you get hay when you cut grass which works for feeding them.
