Upgrading Tools Energy Usage

If I upgrade tools do I consume less energy per swing or is it the same?

IT consumes the same per swing, but takes less to chop down or mine stuff. I am not sure with the power use of water can and what not tho

I believe it's the same per swing, Difference is that Watering Can and Hoe can be charged by holding left cick for a time, to do more at once, and axe/pickaxe can break bigger things, and overall everything in less hits.

What DOES reduce energy costs, is the 'Efficiency' you gain from leveling up in a given skill tree.
